The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee is set to meet today in Karachi for Zilhaj moon sighting.
The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will meet at the main Meteorological Department Complex in Karachi after Asr prayers, whereas zonal Ruet-e-Hilal committees will be convened at their regional headquarters in Lahore, Quetta and Peshawar respectively.
It is to be noted that Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), on July 4, had predicted Zilhaj moon sighting on July 21, and that the Zilhaj, 1441 AH will be born at 22:33 Pakistan Standard Time (PST) on 20 July.
Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry, on Tuesday took to social media to claim that Zilhaj moon will be sighted Karachi and surrounding areas.
Prior to this, Fawad Chaudhry, on June 15 last month, had predicted Eid-ul-Azha to fall on July 31.
According to the federal minister, people can use the ministry’s ‘Ruet App’ to ascertain exact location of the moon.
