Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee is scheduled to meet in Karachi today for Ramazan moon sighting.
The central committee will meet at the Met Office in Karachi headed by Mufti Muneeb ur Rehman while meetings of zonal and district Ruet-e-Hilal committees will also be held at their respective headquarters.
Additionally, for the first time, a member of the Ministry of Science and Technology has been included in the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee.
“Dr Tariq Masood, Joint Secretary M/O Science & Technology is appointed as member (technical expert) in the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee with Immediate effect until further orders,” read the notification issued by the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony.
According to Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), the new moon of Ramazan will be born on crossing conjunction point at 07:26pm on 23-04-2020 and there is no chance of sighting the new moon of Ramazan on April 23 (Shaban 29, 1441 AH).
