Punjab government has announced to reopen restaurants and theatres across the province after Eid ul Fitr.
As per the details, Chief Minister Punjab Usman Buzdar has approved the reopening of theatres and restaurants after Eid as part of the easing of lockdown restrictions in the province.
According to sources, the decision has been taken to facilitate artists and daily wage labourers associated with this theatre and restaurant industry.
It is to be noted that thousands of waiters from restaurant sector, artists and on-set staff of theatres have been left unemployed and are facing grim economic circumstances as restaurants and theatres have been closed since March as part of the country-wide coronavirus lockdown.
The reopening of these sectors will somewhat provide financial assistance to the individuals associated with these sectors.
Earlier, Punjab government had also allowed the resumption of public transport across the province. Punjab has reported a total of 18,455 confirmed coronavirus cases with 310 deaths so far.
