Renowned religious scholar Allama Zameer Akhtar Naqvi was laid to rest in Karachi on Sunday.
Allama Dr Syed Zameer Akhtar Naqvi passed away on Saturday night after suffering a cardiac arrest. He was shifted to a private hospital in Karachi in late hours of Saturday, however he succumbed and passed away at the age of 76.
Born in Lucknow 1944, Zameer Akhtar Naqvi move to Pakistan and settled in Karachi in 1967. Obtained a PhD degree from University of Karachi.
An author of more than 300 books, Allama Zameer Akhtrar Naqvi was known for his knowledge and command over philosophy, literature, culture, journalism and Islamic history.
His funeral prayers were held at Imambargah Shuhada-e-Karbala – Ancholi, and was later laid to rest at Wadi-e-Hussain cemetery at Karachi-Hyderabad superhighway.
Various prominent personalities belonging from various walks of life expressed sorrow and grief over Zameer Akhtar’s demise.
