Chief Minister Punjab, Usman Buzdar has announced that the province will soon be able to conduct 10,000 coronavirus tests on a daily basis.
Usman Buzdar, heading a meeting of local representatives in Rawalpindi, revealed that so far, around 43,000 COVID-19 tests have been conducted across the province. The chief minister announced that field hospital facilities have been set up in various cities across the province including Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Gujranwala.
The government is ensuring all necessary measures to combat the virus outbreak while providing relief to deserving people that have been facing severe financial repercussions due to coronavirus lockdown, said the chief minister.
Usman Buzdar noted that various industries and businesses have been allowed to operate as part of the systematic easing of lockdown in the province. He further stated that the government is committed to formulate and implement policies to provide relief to the people in the month of Ramazan.
Earlier, on March 31, CM Usman Buzdar had approved ‘Insaf Imdad Package’ worth Rs 10 billion to provide a sum of Rs4,000 to 2.5 million deserving families in the province.
A total of 2,945 confirmed coronavirus cases have been reported in the province, with 508 recoveries while 28 people have died due to novel virus.
