Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Usman Buzdar, on Friday, announced his decision allowing public transport to resume its operations across the province.
CM Usman Buzdar has called for a meeting to devise standard operating procedures (SOPs) and guidelines for the resumption of public transport services across the province amid COVID-19 crisis.
Meanwhile Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and other private airlines are expected to resume domestic flight operation before Eid-ul-Fitr.
A flight schedule is expected to be issued on May 16, Saturday. According to sources, flight operations are expected to be partially restored at Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore and Peshawar airports, whereas flights might be limited to 50 per cent of their total passenger capacity.
Punjab has reported the second highest tally of COVID-19 cases in the country with 13,914 coronavirus patients, of which 4,720 have recovered while 234 casualties have been reported so far.
