Punjab government on Monday, announced to reduce examinations syllabus by up to 40-50 per cent for the year 2021.
Punjab’s education department has announced a reduction of 40-50 per cent in examinations syllabus for the year 2021.
“The syllabuses will only include those chapters or topics that are important for students while others will be removed,” said the government notification.
The exam syllabus reduction will be applicable on all subjects from first grade till tenth.
According to Punjab Curriculum & Textbook Board (PCTB), the syllabus has been prepared for a six month time period from September to February.
Meanwhile the examinations of grade 8,9 and 10th will be conducted from the same syllabus as well, it noted.

The development comes as earlier, National Command and Operations Center (NCOC) announced the reopening of educational institutions from September 15, meanwhile restaurants, cinemas, shopping malls, tourist spots and various other sectors, businesses and services have already opened up after the lifting of lockdown restrictions today (Monday).
