Punjab government has established Pakistan’s first drive-through COVID-19 vaccination facility in Lahore.
As per detail, the drive-through vaccination facility has been set up at Nishtar Park Sports Complex and was inaugurated by Zafar Masud – President, CEO Bank of Punjab and Mudassir Riaz Malik – Deputy Commissioner Lahore.
Expressing his views, CEO BoP Zafar Masud termed the development as a ‘great step’ towards further strengthening the national COVID-19 vaccination campaign and that the facility will contribute towards meeting the target of inoculating 70 million people by the end of 2021.
He also stressed that vaccination is the only way to prevent COVID-19 spread and restore the social and economic fabric of the country.
Punjab government has also announced to set up COVID-19 vaccination facilities in all of the 27 teaching hospitals in the province.
Currently 677 COVID-19 vaccination centers are operational in Punjab as part of the ongoing nationwide COVID-19 vaccination drive.
Prior to this, Sindh government had also announced to establish drive-through COVID-19 vaccination facilities at sea view Karachi, shopping plazas and universities.
