Public parks in Lahore, on Friday, reopened after more than two months of closure due to coronavirus lockdown restrictions.
Public parks across Lahore witnessed a significant presence of people who rushed to gasp a breath of fresh air after two months of gap on Friday morning.
Lahoris have welcomed the decision to reopen public parks as they provide an essential service to the residents of the metropolitan city to take a break from city’s crowded streets, noise and air pollution.

The development comes as Punjab government, on Thursday, had announced its decision to reopen public parks as part of lifting the lockdown measures as agreed by National Command and Operation Center (NCOC).
Muzaffar Khan Sial – Director-General of Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA), has stated that public parks will be open from 6 am to 9 pm.
However, people visiting public parks will have to strictly adhere to coronavirus SOPs, guidelines and preventive measures as recommended by the government. No one will be allowed to enter without gloves and face masks, he added.
