ISLAMABAD: Sindh Governor Imran Ismail hints at an investigation against 16 PTI Parliamentarians who voted for Yousuf Raza Gillani, PDM’s candidate in the senate election.
He was referring to the March 3 polls in National Assembly for the seat of Senate when opposition’s candidate Yousuf Raza Gilani defeated PTI’s Dr Abdul Hafeez Sheikh, the Governor said that PTI would investigate the matter.
He was talking to media in Islamabad where he was to attend proceedings of the National Assembly related to the premier’s vote of confidence.
PDM’s candidate Yousuf Raza Gilani had bagged 169 votes against 164 of the PTI candidate prompting calls from the opposition demanding Prime Minister Imran Khan’s resignation.
Governor Sindh said the prime minister wanted to show that the National Assembly has trust in him and he took the step of seeking the vote of confidence on his own accord.
Imran Ismail further said that everyone knows what happened in Hafeez Sheikh’s case and it was shameful to say the least.
