President of Pakistan Dr Arif Alvi on Tuesday (today) felicitated Pakistan Navy (PN) on the successful conclusion of Aman-2021 multinational naval exercise.
President Dr Arif Alvi attended the concluding ceremony of the seventh edition of the multinational maritime exercise Aman-2021 hosted by Pakistan Navy.
Chief of Naval Staff (CNS) Admiral Amjad Khan Niazi received President Arif Alvi who attended the culmination ceremony as the chief guest. President observed ops maneuvers, drills, fly Past by PN, PAF and foreign aircraft followed by Man and Cheership, said DGPR Pakistan Navy.
Federal Ministers, Chief Minister Sindh, CJCSC, COAS, CAS, Ambassadors, High Commissioners, Senior Military Officers, Defense and Naval Attaches from various countries witnessed the event. Ex culminated with traditional ‘AMAN Formation’ to signify unity and collective resolve, added the navy spokesperson.
Expressing his views Naval Chief CNS Admiral Amjad Khan Niazi reiterated Pakistan Navy’s commitment, resolve to play active role in enhancing regional maritime security individually and in collaboration with partner navies.
AMAN-21 Multinational Naval Exercise
AMAN series of multinational exercises were started in 2007 with a view to promote regional cooperation and stability, greater interoperability and to display a united resolve against terrorism and crimes in maritime domain including Piracy.
The concept of AMAN revolves around information sharing, mutual understanding and identifying areas of common interests for participating navies with emphasis on maritime security operations, counter terrorism operations and humanitarian assistance operation.
Based on this, the exercise seeks to develop and practice Response Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (RTTP) for maritime infrastructure, assets and forces against traditional and non-traditional threats.
AMAN-21 is the 7th such exercise planned from 11-16 February 2021 at Karachi, Pakistan.
