Senior Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Agha Siraj Durrani have been indicted in assets beyond means case on Monday (today).
According to details, an accountability court in Karachi indicted Sindh Assembly Speaker Agha Siraj Durrani and other accused in assets beyond means case.
Others accused in the case include Agha Siraj Durrani’s brother Agha Maseehuddin Durrani, his daughters Sanam Durrani, Shahana Durrani, Sarah Durrani along with Tufail Ahmed, Zulfiqar, Agha Munawar Ali, Ghulam Murtaza and Gulbahar.
Agha Siraj Durrani and others have pleaded ‘not guilty’ reiterating their commitment to contest the charges against them.
The court has summoned prosecution witnesses on December 22nd.
It is pertinent to know that National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has accused Agha Siraj Durrani of having assets beyond means. The accountability watchdog had arrested Durrani in February 2019 last year from Islamabad.
NAB has contended that Mr Durrani owns Rs 27 million worth of property in Abbottabad which he claimed to be worth Rs 4 million instead.
In addition to it NAB had recovered 10 luxury watches, gold, foreign currency from his house in DHA and bank locker respectively.
