Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Central Executive Committee (CEC) meeting on Thursday decided that upcoming general elections will be held on time as it vowed not to succumb to any kind of pressure for snap polls.
The party’s bigwigs resolved that the party will not be blackmailed into holding early general elections.
The PPP leadership also tasked the party workers to prepare for the early elections.
The CEC of the party deliberated that the party needs to focus on Punjab after Sind as it is important to take seats from Punjab to form a federal government.
The CEC expressed full confidence in the leadership of the committee Asif Zardari and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and praised the foreign minister for giving a befitting reply to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and highlighting the Kashmir issue on the global stage.
As per the statement issued, CEC members said that the PPP has always sacrificed for democracy.
The CEC praised the recent political victories in Balochistan as multiple leaders joined the People’s Party Party which actually increased the party’s presence.
