The Pakistan Pharmaceutical Manufacturers’ Association (PPMA) has warned of medicine shortage in the country amid coronavirus crisis.
PPMA has cited the shortage of raw materials and logistics hurdles and complications that have risen due to coronavirus lockdown and restrictions.
“The production is being disturbed due to closure of raw material import in the country,” said the statement issued by PPMA.

The association has contended that the possible shortage of medicines could not be solely blamed on the union as there are various other variables and factors in this regard and that it had already informed relevant authorities about it.
PPMA also advised the public to ensure sufficient availability and stock of medicines which are common and used on daily basis.
Prior to this, Ministry of National Health Services (NHS) had slashed the prices of 89 medicines by 15 per cent on the instructions of Prime Minister Imran Khan back in January this year.
