Karachi traffic police have taken notice of motorbike riders violating lockdown SOP and wars of strict action against perpetrators.
The government had placed strict laws during lockdown situation due to coronavirus spreading fast in the country. However, motorbike owners have been witnessed violating most SOPs of the lockdown riding in count if two, three or more on a single two-wheelers, which had become a challenge for traffic police to control.
The traffic police authorities fined 708 drivers for pillion riding, 102 for underage driving, 628 for driving without license and 1283 for violating one-way traffic rules. Collectively 4325 challans were issued.
Deputy Inspector General Traffic Javed Ali Mahar stressed that anyone found violating traffic laws will be indiscriminately punished. He urged the public to respect laws and cooperate with law enforcement officers.
“Honouring and following the law is in public’s own larger benefit,” he said.
