ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Accountability and Interior, Mirza Shahzad Akbar has said that FIA report incriminating many sugar mill owners including government representatives was not leaked, but rather released to the media on Saturday.
Federal government has maintained that the inquiry report about the sugar and wheat price hike and hoarding was released by the government, contrary to the media claims.
Speaking to the press, Shahzad Akbar told that his office had sent the report to the media on Saturday and the PM House had to send the summary to the assistant on Sunday.
Prime Minister Imran Khan formulated an inquiry committee that was led by Director General Federal Investigation Agency Wajid Zia to look into the matter and prepare a report.
