LNG Case
Shahid Khaqan Abbasi is accused of awarding a 15-year contract for an LNG terminal when he was petroleum minister in former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s cabinet, along with illegal appointment of Imran-ul-Haq as managing director Pakistan State Oil (PSO), when he held the designation of Prime Minister of Pakistan.
National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in its reference, has contended that Shahid Khaqan Abbasi violated Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA) rules by granting LNG import and distribution contract to the Elengy Terminal back in 2013.
The reference was filed in 2014 and argued that ‘unexplained’ deposits of Rs1.4 billion and Rs1.2 billion were made to Abbasi and his son’s bank accounts.
