Senior PML-N leader Maryam Nawaz Sharif has gone into self-isolation after testing positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday (today).
PML-N spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb has confirmed that Maryam Nawaz Sharif – party’s vice president and daughter of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif has tested positive for COVID-19.
PML-N vice president Maryam Nawaz Sharif has expressed gratitude for wishes apprising that she’s receiving medical treatment at her residency.
She also apprised that she is suffering from fever, cough and flu symptoms.
The development comes as Pakistan is currently witnessing its fourth COVID-19 wave
Notable Pakistani politicians, including PM Imran Khan, President Arif Alvi, PML-N President Shahbaz Sharif, Federal Minister for Planning, Development Asad Umar, and others have tested positive and successfully recovered from the virus.
The development comes as Pakistan’s daily COVID-19 case count crossed 4,000 for the first time in two months Wednesday morning after the National Command and Operation Centre reported 4,119 fresh infections.
Country’s COVID-19 positivity rate stands at 7.8% with the total number of cases has reached 1,015,827. In addition to this, 7,020 patients recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of recoveries to 935,742 while the number of active cases is 56,952.
