Prime Minister Imran Khan, on Friday, expressed his grief over the death of renowned businessman and Indus Motor Company Chairman Ali Suleman Habib.
Expressing his views on the grim news, Prime Minister Tweeted, “Saddened to learn of the passing of my old friend Ali Habib today. He was a respected & enterprising businessman who was a member of the SKMT Board and was helping our govt in an honorary capacity in the Ministry of Commerce.”
Ali Suleman Habib, was the head of one of the country’s leading automobile company – Indus Motor Company (IMC). Apart from being a member of the Board of Governors of the Habib University he was also serving as an honorary Minister of Commerce.
Talking to a private news channel, business tycoon Arif Habib (no relation with the deceased) stated, He was a fearless man who did not shy away from expressing his views in front of policymakers. He was a nationalist who used to tell people not to discuss personal issues or problems and instead talk about national issues.”
Condolences and tributes have poured in from country’s leading business and industrial moguls.
“It is truly one of the saddest days in our lives. [He was] one of the finest gentleman once you knew him… It’s a huge loss in all respects,” said Shahid Soorty – MD Soorty Enterprises.
TPL CEO Ali Jameel stated, “He was a great friend. He had many successes but Habib University was his biggest success.”
