Prime Minister Imran khan in his SCO address on Tuesday, urged the need of synergized global efforts against COVID-19 pandemic.
PM Imran Khan in his virtual address at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Heads of State Council meeting highlighted the need to formulate and implement a coordinated strategy to tackle coronavirus outbreak on a global level.
The premier maintained that Pakistan supports Chinese efforts to contain the pandemic in providing protection equipment to the deserving nations.
Pakistan welcomes the initiative of G-20 to provide debt relief to poor economies, said the prime minister.
Furthermore, PM Imran Khan underscored that since becoming a member in 2017, Pakistan has been actively contributing to the promotion SCO’s multi-sectoral agenda through participation in various SCO mechanisms.
During his address, the premier also raised Kashmir issue and contended that international community must take notice and condemn unilateral Indian actions and illegal occupation of Jammu and Kashmir.
Meanwhile, expressing his views on Afghan conflict, PM Imran Khan accentuated Pakistan’s positive role and its significant contributions in Afghan Peace Process to ensure lasting peace in the war torn country.
He also said that repatriation of Afghan refugees must be included in Afghan Peace Process.
It is to be noted that the invitation to PM Imran Khan Minister to attend the SCO-CHS was extended by Russian President Vladimir Putin himself.
