Prime Minister Imran Khan on Thursday (today) once again stressed upon the need to follow basic principles of State of Medina.
In his virtual keynote address at the International Conference on Civilizational values in the Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) Seerah organized by the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization at Rabat, Morocco, PM Imran Khan urged the Muslim countries to adhere to Islamic principles and guidelines as implemented in world’s first welfare state of Medina by our Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).
The welfare state of Medina provisioned rule of law, meritocracy and compassion where even the powerful were equal before the law, said PM Imran Khan.

These are the aspects which distinguish between the civilized and banana states, he added.
The premier also underscored China’s remarkable success at poverty alleviation and how it managed to take out more than seven hundred million people out of poverty in past thirty years.
