Prime Minister Imran Khan on Saturday (today) took to social media to laud the modernization of Peshawar’s Khyber Teaching Hospital.
Khyber Teaching Hospital has been totally revamped and modernized after a lot of effort, tweeted the prime minister.
The premier, underscored the fact is easy to build a new state of the art hospital; but very difficult to fix our existing government hospitals.
PM Imran congratulated he KTH Board and management for their successful and noteworthy efforts.

Khyber Teaching Hospital, formerly Hayat Shaheed Teaching Hospital, was established in 1976 as a training and biomedical research facility for the medical students of the North Western region of Pakistan, as well as the new teaching affiliate of the best medical school in the region, Khyber Medical College. Khyber Teaching Hospital has developed into a major health care facility in the region.
Covering an area of 962,000 sq-ft, the 1,202-bed facility provides essential health facilities to more than 500,000 people annually.
As a tertiary health-care facility, KTH serves as major referral center in the region. This facility serves a large population, both domestic and foreign, in the North West of Pakistan as well as North Eastern Afghanistan. The more than 1200 bedded hospital has most of the major and minor medical and surgical departments.
