PM Imran Khan has lauded Federal Bureau of Revenue (FBR) for successfully achieving it tax collection target of FY2020-21.
PM Imran Khan took to social media to praise FBR’s performance and record tax collection for Rs 4,732 billion in FY2020-21.
I commend efforts of FBR in achieving historic level of tax revenues of Rs4,732 billion in 2020-21 – exceeding target of Rs 4,691 billion and 18% higher than last year, tweeted PM Imran Khan.
The prime minister noted that this performance is testimony to the strong economic revival spurred by our government’s policies.
The development comes as earlier, FBR reported that it not successfully achieved its tax collection target of FY2020-21, but in fact surpassed it.
The FBR had set its tax collection target at Rs 4,691 biillion for the outgoing FY2020-21. However, it succeeded in achieving it tax collection target and in fact surpassed it by collecting Rs 4,725 billion in tax in FY2020-21.
FBR succeeded in collecting Rs 3,997 billion in revenue last year. FBR collected Rs 555 billion in June 2021 alone which significantly contributed towards achieving its annual tax collection goal.
Separately, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting – Fawad Chaudhry revealed that Pakistan achieved the highest export target with 18% increase in FY2020-21.
If the service sector is also included, then the exports are more than US$ 31 billion, said the federal minister.
