Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday, discussed bilateral relations, COVID-19 issue with his Australian counterpart Scott Morrison.
PM Imran Khan held a telephonic conversation with his Australian counterpart PM Scott Morrison and mulled over bilateral relations and matters of mutual interests between Australia and Pakistan.
The premier lauded Australia’s impressive management of COVID-19 situation and highlighted the unprecedented global health and economic challenges posed by the pandemic.
PM Imran Khan also highlighted Pakistan’s ‘smart lockdown’ strategy in wake of tackling COVID-19 outbreak in the country.
He also stressed upon the adverse economic impact of COVID-19 on the developing countries and the significance of ‘Global Initiative on Debt Relief’.
Furthermore, PM Imran accentuated Pakistan’s positive contribution to the Afghan peace process and stressed that peace in Afghanistan was of paramount importance for the region and Pakistan.
The two dignitaries agreed upon the vast potential for further enhancing mutually beneficial cooperation in diverse fields.
Australian PM Scott Morrison also invited Prime Minister Imran Khan to visit Australia.
