Prime Minister Imran Khan has directed secretary aviation division to form an investigation team to look into the PIA plane crash immediately.
According to details, Prime Minister Office (PMO) has written a letter to the secretary aviation division instructing him to from an investigation team and start the investigation into the incident at once.
“Investigation team should start its work without waiting for the permission of the federal government,” reads the letter.
A Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) PK-8303 carrying 99 passengers and 8 flight crew members, crashed in Karachi in Model Colony area during its landing approach, on Friday.
Airbus to assist in crash investigation
The PIA aircraft that crashed was A-320 which is manufactured by ‘Airbus’. The company has offered its support and technical assistance and expertise to Pakistani authorities in investigating the incident.
“In line with ICAO annex 13, Airbus is providing full technical assistance to the Bureau d’Enquêtes et d’Analyses of France and to the Pakistani Authorities in charge of the investigation. Technical support is also being provided by Pakistan International Airlines and engine manufacturer CFM,” read the statement issued by the company.
