PM Was Not ‘Fully Vaccinated’
In a statement, Ministry of National Health Services has clarified that the premier was not ‘fully vaccinated’ and had only received first dose of COVID-19 vaccine, whereas anti-bodies against the novel virus only develop after 2-3 weeks of the second vaccine dose.
Prime Minister Imran Khan was not fully vaccinated when he contracted the virus. He only got the 1st dose and merely 2 days ago which is too soon for ANY vaccine to become effective. Anti-bodies develop 2-3 weeks after 2nd dose of 2-dose COVID vaccines. #VaccinesWork

Yes, Prime Minister Imran Khan was vaccinated 2 days ago. But:
1. Vaccination is given in 2 doses.
2. Covid symptoms don't always appear right away. Probably Khan had corona before he was vaccinated. Covid vaccine prevents, it doesn't eliminate the virus already inside your body.— Mehr Tarar (@MehrTarar) March 20, 2021
Prior to it, President of Pakistan Arif Alvi along with his wife Samina Alvi received COVID-19 vaccine on March 15th at a vaccination center in Islamabad’s Tarlai area on March 15th.
It is pertinent to know that Pakistan launched its first COVID-19 vaccination programme on February 3rd after receiving 500,000 COVID-19 vaccine doses from China’s Sinopharm on February 1st.
The COVID-19 vaccination drive was launched simultaneously in federal capital along with provincial capitals namely Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Quetta and Peshawar.
Meanwhile the second phase of COVID-19 vaccination was launched on March 10th. The second phase of COVID-19 inoculation will focus on people who are aged 60 or above, as they’re more vulnerable to the novel virus.
