Prime Minister Imran Khan, along with Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa inaugurated a 250-bed isolation facility in Islamabad on Thursday.
Speaking at the inauguration of Isolation Hospital and Infection Treatment Centre (IHITC) by Frontier Works Organization (FWO) within a short time period of 40 days. The premier lauded the effort of FWO team and engineers as the 250-bed capacity facility will ease the burden on local health infrastructure amid increasing coronavirus cases.
Expressing his views on the current COVID-19 situation Prime Minister Imran Khan stated that the people failed to abide by the coronavirus social distancing measures and as a result the virus spread witnessed exponential increase and country’s health system and infrastructure got overwhelmed.

Furthermore, Prime Minister Imran Khan urged the masses to observe Eid-ul-Azha in accordance with the coronavirus SOPs and preventive measures issued by the government to prevent further virus spread.
It is to be noted that Islamabad has reported a total of 13,731 coronavirus cases, with 9.939 recoveries and 142 deaths so far.
