Prime Minister Imran Khan on Tuesday, met with Hezb-e-Islami leader Gulbuddin Hekmatyar in Islamabad.
PM Imran Khan discussed Afghan Peace Process with Gulbuddin Hekmatyar who was accompanied by a senior Afghan delegation.
During the meeting, matters of mutual concerns were discussed. The two leaders acknowledged the significance of Pak-Afghan relations for regional peace and stability.
The development comes as earlier, leader of Hezb-e-Islami of Afghanistan Gulbuddin Hekmatyar, along with his delegation arrived in Islamabad on Monday, on a three-day visit to discuss matters pertaining to Afghan Peace Process.
Gulbuddin Hekmatyar also called on Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi to discuss matters of mutual concerns and Afghan Peace Process.
Pakistan has welcomed Hekmatyar’s visit stressing that it will further strengthen bilateral ties between the two countries.
The visit of Mr. Gulbuddin Hekmatyar will provide an opportunity for exchange of views on the Afghan peace process and strengthening of Pakistan-Afghanistan bilateral relations as well as people-to-people interaction, read the press-release issued by Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
