Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), on Saturday, announced Rs 1 million in compensation to the families of the victims of the deadly plane crash.
According to PIA sources, its district managers will visit the families of crash victims and will give Rs 1 million as compensation for their loss and to cover the funeral expenses.
Abdullah Khan – PIA spokesperson stated that as per the PIA rules and regulations only RS 500,000 are given to the families of the victims, however, the sum has been increased to Rs one million on the directions of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
The PIA officials have already contacted the families of 96 victims, he added.
Around 99 people are reported to have been killed when PIA flight PK-8303 crashed at a distance of mere four kilometres from the runway during its landing approach on Friday.
A special inquiry committee has
been formed on the directions of PM Imran Khan, and will submit a detailed
report to the Aviation Ministry within one month.
