Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is set to bring back 6,000 Pakistanis stranded in gulf countries due to COVID-19 restrictions.
As per details, the national carrier will operate 18 flights to bring back around 6,000 Pakistanis stuck in gulf countries as a result of traveling restrictions.
The especial flights will primarily bring back Pakistani nationals from Doha, Bahrain, Dubai and Sharjah in four days.
PIA will be using Boeing 777 instead of Airbus for these flights, said Aviation Minister Ghulam Sarwar Khan.
The development comes as government aims to bring back Pakistanis left stranded due to COVID-19 related traveling restrictions before Eidul Azha.
Between July 9th to July 11th, two flights will bring back 722 passengers from Bahrain. Meanwhile, six flights will be operated for Qatar’s capital Doha to bring back 2,016 Pakistanis between July 6th and July 18th.
Ten flights will be operated for UAE bringing back 3,394 passengers between July 5th and July 16th.
