A Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) plane is reported to have crashed in Model Colony area of Karachi.
According to details, a PIA Airbus A-320, flight PK-8303 has crashed in Karachi’s model colony area. CAA and PIA sources have confirmed the incident.
As per the initial reports the plane was coming from Lahore as was expected to land at Jinnah Airport Karachi and crashed in a residential area near airport soon after the pilot gave the ‘mayday’ call and reported a technical malfunction on the plane.
Unconfirmed sources have reported that the plane was carrying more than 90 passengers.
The crash is also reported to have damaged several homes and fire tenders are trying to control the blaze.
Rescue teams have been dispatched to the location as emergency responders are trying to clear of the area and search for any survivors.
