Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), has received personal protective equipment kits (PPEs) from National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) worth up to US$ 100,000.
According to details, NDMA) has provided essential protective equipment and kits to PIA such as gowns, masks and goggles to ensure the safety of PIA employees.
PIA’s Chief Executive Officer Air Marshal Arshad Malik has expressed his gratitude to the NDMA for assisting PIA in these dire circumstances.
The development comes as PIA has been actively in conducting special flight operations to and from various countries around the world to bring back Pakistani citizens who have been left stranded due to COVID-19 travel restrictions.
Earlier, on May 3, four PIA employees including one pilot and three flight attendants tested positive for the novel virus after returning from a special flight from Melbourne to Lahore.
Several PIA employees including flight and ground crew have contracted the virus, while a number of casualties have also been reported.
