Peshawar police is set to monitor Muharram processions in the city via recently developed mobile application.
As per the details, a mobile application has been developed for the use of Peshawar police to monitor Muharram processions and Majalis in the city.
Peshawar’s Superintendent of Police (SP) has said that the app incorporates routes of Muharram processions along with the details regarding the deployment of security personnel.
Furthermore, the application is also linked with close circuit (CCTV) security cameras, and police personnel will be able to access them via their cell phones using this app.
In addition to it, the city officials have announced a ban on pillion riding on 9th and 10th Muharram under Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code.
Women, children, elderly, journalists and law enforcement agencies personnel will be exempted from the ban.

Strict security measures have been formulated to ensure the safety of people participating in 9th and 10th Muharram processions across the country.
