Federal Interior Minister – Sheikh Rashid Ahmed on Saturday (today) has once again reassured that perpetrators behind Dasu bus attack will be exposed and ‘brought to justice’.
Addressing a press-briefing in Islamabad, Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed apprised that 15-member team of Chinese investigators had arrived yesterday and visited the incident site with security agency officials.
Reassuring Chinese side of apprehending and exposing the perpetrators behind the fatal attack, the federal minister stressed that highest security institutions of the country are carrying out the investigation.
Sordid designs of those elements which are against the CPEC and Pak-China friendship will be foiled, noted Sheikh Rashid Ahmed.
“We completely reassure the Chinese government that these culprits, hidden hands and enemies of CPEC (China-Pakistan Economic Corridor) and China-Pakistan friendship will never be forgiven at any cost”, he added.
Earlier in the day, Sheikh Rashid Ahmed had held a telephonic conversation with China’s Minister of Public Security – Zhao Kezhi. The two exchanged views over Dasu bus incident which claimed the lives of nine Chinese nationals.
Prior to this PM Imran Khan had also held a telephonic conversation with his Chinese counterpart – Li Keqiang over the matter.
Meanwhile, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting – Fawad Chaudhry had earlier said that “terrorism cannot be ruled out” in the Dasu accident.
Fawad Chaudhry confirmed that initial investigation confirms the traces of explosives and that terrorism cannot be ruled out.
It is pertinent to know that 13 people – including 9 Chinese nationals, two personnel of the Frontier Constabulary (FC) and two locals – were killed and 28 others sustained injuries when a coach carrying them to an under-construction tunnel site of the 4,300-megawatt Dasu hydropower project fell into a ravine in the Upper Kohistan area after an explosion on Wednesday.
