Maulana Tahir Ashrafi – SAPM on Religious Harmony, has categorically denied rumors and misconceptions against COVID-19 vaccine reassuring that people can receive COVID-19 vaccine while fasting.
Addressing a press briefing in Lahore, SAPM Maulana Tahir Ashrafi noted that receiving COVID-19 vaccine while fasting is allowed as per Sharia law.
The Ulemas have consensus on the point that you can get vaccinated while fasting, he said.
All renowned religious scholars have decreed that each and every person should get him or herself vaccinated against the coronavirus, he added.

The SAPM highlighted that various prominent Muslim personalities from Imam-e-Kaaba to the Palestinian president, to all the leading Islamic figures, have received COVID-19 vaccine.
Expressing his views on the false prograde against COVID-19 inoculation, Tahir Ashrafi noted that spreading false propaganda against COVID-19 vaccine is not right and people indulged in such activities should fear Allah.
Furthermore, Maulana Tahir Ashrafi apprised that Saudi government will also facilitate in vaccination of Hajj and Umrah pilgrims.
PM Imran Khan has issued directives to strictly follow the COVID-19 SOPs prescribed by the Saudi government.
In addition to it, the SAPM also categorically denied rumors regarding possible closures of mosques amid increasing COVID-19 cases.
There was no proposal under consideration for closure of the mosques in Ramazan, he said.
