KAKUL: The COAS reviewed the flag presentation parade as the chief guest of the ceremony. He awarded the battalion standard to the 4th Pakistan Battalion which was raised on October 10, 2016.
Later, addressing the faculty and cadets, the COAS lauded PMA’s role as the premier training institution of the Pakistan Army and commended the faculty and staff for maintaining high standards of training and grooming of the young leaders that form the backbone of the Pakistan Army.
Dilating upon future challenges in the view of changing dynamics of warfare, the COAS advised the cadets to wholeheartedly focus on training and remain abreast with the latest advancements in technology to prove equal to the task.
Gen Bajwa said the Pakistan Army is proud of its young officers who continue to lead their men from the front with courage and devotion to defend the freedom of the motherland.
Hope that Taliban will fulfil promises made for women’s, human rights in Afghanistan
The COAS also commented on the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan and said that he hopes that the group would fulfil the promise that it made to the international community regarding the protection of women’s and human rights in the country.
As reported by Geo News, Gen Bajwa said that he is hopeful that the Taliban will not allow Afghan soil to be used against any other country.
The army chief warned that if Afghanistan continues to make Pakistan a target of criticism, then Pakistan will “not stay silent”.
‘Peace in Afghanistan means peace in Pakistan’
Three days before the Taliban took over Afghanistan, Gen Bajwa had said that peace in Afghanistan means peace for Pakistan.
He issued the statement as he spoke to the ambassadors of Germany, Italy, Netherlands, and France to discuss regional security issues.
Per a statement by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Germany’s Ambassador Bernhard Stephan Schlagheck, Italy’s Ambassador Andreas Ferrarese, Netherlands’ Ambassador Willem Wouter Plomp, and France’s acting Ambassador Yves Manville met the COAS at the General Headquarters.
