Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) has failed to secure Punjab government’s approval after the latter denied permission for Lahore power show.
As per details, Punjab government has declined PDM’s request for anti-government rally in Lahore which is scheduled for December 13th Sunday (tomorrow).
PDM, the 11-party anti-government alliance had requested the government to hold a rally in Lahore’s Minar-e-Pakistan.
The government has cited COVID-19 concerns over its refusal to grant permission for the PDM rally arguing that in light of the prevailing coronavirus pandemic, no public can be allowed.
Furthermore, provincial and district intelligence committees have warned against the rally citing terrorism concerns.
Meanwhile, National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA) had also issued threat alerts regarding PDM’s December 13th gathering.
Earlier in the day, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) workers breached into Lahore’s Greater Iqbal Park, entering through Gate No 5.
