A bipartisan parliamentary committee is scheduled to meet today, to discuss economic repercussions of COVID-19 lockdown.
As per the details, the committee is headed by Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaisar and various entities and stake holders such as business community, Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), traders associations, and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP) will provide their input and recommendations to plan future policies.
The committee will be briefed by Abdul Razak Dawood – advisor to Prime Minister on Commerce, and Hammad Azhar – Minister for Industries and Production, on government measures to assist and preserve the economic fabric of industrial sector amid coronavirus lockdown.
Mian Anjum Nisar – President FPCCI, and Ajmal Baloch – President All Pakistan Anjuman-e-Tajiraan will also address the committee on the concerns and demands of industrialists and traders concerned with import and export sectors.
Among other dignitaries who will be attending the meeting, include Ishfaq Yousaf Tola – Chairman Economic Advisory Committee of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan, Members of the National Assembly Ali Pervez Malik, Raja Khurram Shahzad and Senator Saleem Mandviwala – Deputy Chairman Senate.
