Pakistan’s COVID-19 positivity rate has been increased to 40 per cent in the past four days, according to National Command and Operations Center (NCOC).
As per the statistics provided by NCOC, Pakistan has witnessed a significant surge in COVID-19 cases with an alarming 40 per cent increase in virus positivity rate.
Muzaffarabad, Hyderabad, Karachi and Gilgit-Baltistan are the areas with the highest COVID-19 positivity rate, said NCOC.
NCOC has already warned that in wake of continuous violation of COVID-19 SOPs and preventive measures, the government might re-enforce varying lockdown restrictions.
Remarking transport sector, markets, marriage halls, restaurants and public gatherings as high-risk areas, NCOC has urged provincial governments to ensure all essential steps in order to curb the virus spread.
Pakistan’s COVID-19 tally stands at 326,216 cases in total, with 6,715 deaths so far. The country reported 736 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, along with 13 casualties.
Pakistan’s current case fatality rate stands at 2.06 per cent against the global percentage of 2.72 per cent, whereas males account for 71 per cent of the total COVID-19 deaths in Pakistan.
