Pakistan’s COVID-19 positivity rate surpassed alarming 7% mark on Monday (today) as the country reported another 3,752 new cases.
According to NCOS statistics, 49,947 corona tests were conducted across the country in the last 24 hours, of which 3,752 came back positive taking the country’s national COVID-19 positivity rate to 7.5%.
Punjab remains the worst-hit province in terms of deaths followed by Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Till now 10,944 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab 5,833 in Sindh, 4,420 in KP, 793 in Islamabad, 610 in Azad Kashmir, 325 in Balochistan, and 123 in GB.
Furthermore 367,092 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 353,238 in Punjab, 141,925 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 85,780 in Islamabad, 29,571 in Balochistan, 23,093 in Azad Kashmir and 7,747 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
Karachi, according to sources, has reported the most positivity rate in the country with 24.82 %, followed by 19.76 % in Muzaffarabad, 18.9 in Rawalpindi, 14.66 % in Skardu, 12.41 % in Peshawar, and 10.95 % in Islamabad, the federal capital of the country.
In Gilgit Baltistan, the Gilgit area reported 2.99 % COVID positivity while the Diamer district reported zero positivity. Mirpur area of Azad Jammu and Kashmir reported an 8.54 % positivity rate.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Abbottabad reported a rate of COVID cases at 7.95 %, followed by Nowshera 7.20 %, Swabi 4.60 %, Mardan 4.06 %, Swat 2.06 %, and zero positivity rate in Charsadda.
The number of deaths from coronavirus in the country has risen to 23,048 after 32 more people died in the last 24 hours and the total number of cases has reached 108,446.
Additionally, 1,641 patients recovered from COVID-19 in the last 24 hours across the country, bringing the total number of recoveries to 927,599 while the number of active cases is 57,799.
