Pakistan on Tuesday (today) welcomed the reopening of borders between Saudi Arabia and Qatar.
In a statement, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) praised Saudi Arabia and Qatar for their decision to reopen land, air and sea borders restoring freedom of movement, goods between two countries.
“We also appreciate other steps being taken by the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), which will contribute to resolution of outstanding issues between the countries of the organization persisting for almost four years,” read press-release.
Pakistan has praised the positive role played by the Emir of Kuwait towards the resolution of the differences between the countries of the GCC. His persistent and sincere efforts, and cooperation of the GCC countries, led to this important and amicable outcome, it added.
Pakistan has hoped that the GCC summit in Al-Ula will further contribute to improved regional cooperation and resolution of differences, disputes between Gulf countries.
Furthermore, Pakistan has also reiterated its continuing cooperation with GCC and the significance of bilateral relations with GCC members.
