Pakistan till focus on strengthening ties with United States of America (USA) under the new Biden administration, says Munir Akram.
Pakistan’s permanent representative to United Nations (UN) – Munir Akram has said that Pakistan will strive to further strengthen bilateral ties with US under President Joe Biden.
In a statement, Munir Akram congratulated Joe Biden on taking oath as 46th President of United States on January 20th a day earlier.
Furthermore, Munir Akram also hoped for that under President Joe Biden, US-Pak ties will witness significant improvement due to mutually devised strategies for enhanced cooperation.
Improved US ties will also ensure improved security situation, he added.
It is pertinent to know that Joe Biden has also served as US Vice President under Barack Obama. During his term as US Vice President, Joe Biden visited Pakistan in 2008 and was bestowed with Hial-e-Pakistan – country’s second highest civil award.
Joe Biden had also supported the bill provisioning US$ 1.5 billion non-military aid to Pakistan.
