Pakistan on Tuesday, announced that it will resume accepting new applications for Umrah pilgrimage from November 1st.
As per details, Government of Pakistan has announced its decision to resume accepting new Umrah applications from November 1st after the Saudi authorities issues new COVID-19 SOPs regarding Umrah pilgrims.
According to the key SOPs, directives issued by Saudi government;
- Allowed age category for Umrah pilgrims from outside the Kindgdom is between 18-50 years.
- Umrah pilgrims must submit a PCR test certificate issued by approved laboratory in pilgrims’ native country with a negative COVID-19 result 72-hours from the time of sample collection to the time of departure to KSA.
- Prior reservation is required to perform Umrah.
- Confirmed flight reservation for both arrival and departure according to the approved Umrah package.
- Three meals per day during the minimum three-day sanitary isolation at hotel.
It is pertinent to know that in 2019, Pakistan had topped the list of countries with the maximum number of pilgrims visiting Saudi Arabia for Umrah.
The development comes as earlier, Saudi government opened Makkah’s Grand Mosque on October 4th under strict COVID-19 SOPs, and after a seven-month break due to coronavirus pandemic.
