Pakistan’s COVID-19 mortality rate is reported region’s lowest COVID-19 mortality rate, announced Asad Umar on Saturday (today).
Federal Minister for Planning and Development – Asad Umar has revealed that Pakistan’s COVID-19 mortality rate is lowest in the region.
Pakistan’s COVID-19 mortality rate stands at 102 deaths per million.
Timely decisions, hard work, cooperation of people and blessings of Allah made this possible. Risk is not over, said the NCOC Chief.
Meanwhile, COVID-19 mortality rate for other countries in the region is;
Iran – 1,037 deaths per million; Nepal – 326 deaths, India – 301 deaths, Sri Lanka – 186 deaths, Afghanistan – 160 deaths and Bangladesh 113 deaths per million.
Pakistan’s total COVID-19 tally stands at 1,001,875 cases with 22,971 deaths so far. A total of 924,782 people have successfully recovered from COVID-19 whereas 2,551 are still in critical condition.
Province-wise distribution of COVID-19 cases reveal that the total number of coronavirus patients in Sindh has reached 363,101. In Punjab, the total number of COVID-19 patients is 352,153, in Balochistan 29,451, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 141,495, in Azad Kashmir 22,685, and 7,639 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
As of today, country’s COVID-19 positivity rate stands at 4.89% with 1,841 new cases and 32 deaths reported in the last 24 hours.
