Pakistan has reported a record 44.06 % increase in car sales for the month of January with 14,543 cars being sold in the previous month.
The significant surge in car sales has been attributed to lease on low interest rate as only 10,095 cars were sold during the same time period last year in 2020.
The month of January saw a 27% in the sale of 1300cc cars with 6,644 units being sold in contrast to 5,467 in 2020.
Suzuki Cultus and WagonR have also witnessed a 23% increase in sales, whereas Suzuki’s 800cc Alto has emerged as the most successful car in its category. Sales of Honda Civic and Honda City have also witnessed a surge of 10%.
However, sales of Toyota Corolla have dropped by an alarming 56%.
Trucks’ sales have also dropped, whereas Jeeps’ sales have increased by 149% primarily due to a whopping 179% hike in Toyota Fortuner sales.
