Pakistan has received another 500,000 COVID-19 vaccine doses from China’s Sinopharm on Wednesday (today).
According to Dr Faisal Sultan – Special Assistant to Prime Minister (SAPM) on Health, Pakistan has received another 0.5 million Sinopharm COVID-19 vaccine doses from China.
The development will ensure smooth continuation of our vaccination drive, currently underway for senior citizens, said SAPM.

Furthermore, Dr Faisal Sultan expressed gratitude for China’s crucial support during COVID-19 pandemic. This gesture is a testament to our long-standing friendship, he said.
The development comes as earlier, government on March 10th had launched second phase of nationwide COVID-19 vaccination drive for the people aged 60 and above.
People above the age of 60 can get themselves registered via sending a text message at 1166 or can visit National Immunization Management System (NIMS) website.
It is pertinent to know that Pakistan launched nationwide COVID-19 vaccination process on February 3rd after receiving 500,000 COVID-19 vaccine doses from China’s Sinopharm on February 1st.
The COVID-19 vaccination drive was launched simultaneously in federal capital along with provincial capitals namely Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Quetta and Peshawar.
