A Pakistan Railway’s quarantine coach stationed at Lahore Railway Station caught fire and sustained serious damage on Saturday.
As per the details, the incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday morning due to a possible short circuit in the electrical system of the coach.
The coach that caught fire is one of the five coaches converted into quarantine facility at Lahore Railway Station.
No injuries or casualties have been reported in the incident.
It is to be noted that Pakistan Railways, on the directions of Sheikh Rasheed, has established quarantine facilities using its AC coaches at various parts of the country to ease the burden on country’s healthcare system amid COVID-19 outbreak.
Last month, a 30-coach quarantine facility was established at Chaman Railway station near Pak-Afghan border with the capacity to accommodate 300 people.
