Pakistan Navy on Thursday (today) launched ‘Mangroves Plantation Campaign 2021’in coastal areas of Sindh and Balochistan.
According to DGPR Pakistan Navy, Commander Coast, Vice Admiral Zahid Ilyas was the Chief Guest event and planted mangrove sapling at Port Bin Qasim.
The initiative is part of Pakistan Navy’s environmental protection program under which PN has planted 7 million mangroves trees so far.

In his message, Chief of Naval Staff (CNS) Admiral Amjad Khan Niazi Pakistan Navy is a major stakeholder of sea and coast of Pakistan and actively participates in mangrove plantation in line with the vision of government of Pakistan.
Mangroves Plantation Campaign 2021 earmarks the significance and dedication of Pakistan Navy to achieve the goal of developing ‘Green Coastal Belt’, noted Admiral Amjad Khan Niazi.
“I urge all my countrymen to join hands with Pakistan navy for maintaining clean and better coastal environment by preserving and planting of mangroves for ourselves and our future generations,” said the naval chief.
CNS Admiral Amjad Khan Niazi highlighted that Pakistan Navy launced Mangroves Plantation Campaign in 2016 with a plantation target of one million mangroves during which over 1.1 million mangroves saplings were planted.
