Pakistan on Friday, lodged strong protest against unprovoked ceasefire violations by Indian forces along Line of Control (LOC).
As per details, Pakistan’s Foreign Office (FO) on Friday, summoned senior Indian diplomat to protest against ceasefire violations (CFVs) by India along LoC.
FO spokesperson Zahid Hafeez Chaudhry in a statement, highlighted that one civilian sustained severe injuries due to unprovoked and indiscriminate cross border firing by Indian forces in Tatta Pani Sector at LoC.
Indian forces have been continuously targeting civilian population on the Pakistani side with artillery fire and heavy caliber weapons, mortars along LoC and Working Boundary (WB), he said.
India has committed 2,940 CFVs this year so far which have resulted in 27 casualties along with 247 injuries to civilians on the Pakistani side.
Pakistan has called upon the Indian side to respect the 2003 Ceasefire Understanding and refrain from targeting civilians which in fact is a blatant violation of humanitarian norms and goes against professional military conduct.
Earlier, Indian troops initiated ceasefire violation in Hotspring Sector along LOC deliberately targeting civil population with mortars and heavy weapons. A 55 years old woman was injured due to unprovoked Indian firing who is now being provided medical care, reported Pakistan Army’s Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).
Furthermore, Indian forces initiated CFVs in Khuiratta Sector along LoC on Thursday. Pakistan army troops responded befittingly. Reports of heavy losses to Indian troops in men and material. During exchange of fire, two soldiers, Lance Naik Tariq and Sepoy Zaroof embraced martyrdom.
