The Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority has fined Turkish Airlines for violating COVID-19 SOPs, restrictions prescribed by the government in order to tackle coronavirus pandemics in the country.
As per details, Pakistan has imposed a fine of Rs 100,000 on Turkish Airlines for allowing two passengers to board its flight TK0584 without a negative COVID-19 RT-PCR test.
The two passenger boarded the Turkish Airlines flight in Istanbul which was destined for Lahore.
Pakistan has listed Senegal and Turkey as ‘Category B’ country meaning that passengers travelling to Pakistan from these countries will have to ensure the provision of negative PCR test report.
The passengers’ negative PCR test report must be not more than 96 hours old.
The imposition of fine comes as Turkish Airlines had previously been warned against COVID-19 SOPs violation on October 13 and 21 in 2020 last year.
